New Ontario Vaping Regulations: What You Need to Know Starting October 1st

Starting October 1st, 2024, Ontario businesses are required to purchase and sell vaping products that feature the official Ontario excise tax label. This new regulation is aimed at ensuring that all vaping products sold within Ontario comply with local taxation laws and contribute to provincial excise revenue.

For businesses operating outside of Ontario, they may continue to purchase and sell vaping products that carry the federal excise tax label, as they are not bound by Ontario’s specific tax regulations. This means that Ontario-based businesses must prioritize products with the Ontario label, while other provinces can stick to the federal labeling requirement.

As a distributor, we highly recommend Ontario-based businesses to source the proper excise-labeled products to avoid potential non-compliance issues. However, for those outside of Ontario, you can continue purchasing federally labeled products without issue.
